Details for Twin Cities preDevCamp

Hi there

Hi, I’m Michael, and I will be organizing the Minneapolis – Saint Paul preDevCamp! We settled on a Caribou Coffee near the U of M as our venue, and a slightly later starting time of 1:00 PM.

I hope to see you there!

When

August 8th, at 1:00 PM

Where

Caribou Coffee (on the east edge of the U of M) [Google Map]

917 Washington Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414-3036

What

No cost. Free WiFi, so bring your laptop (and of course your pre!), and free parking is available, so its okay to bring your gas guzzler. Oh, and bring a few bucks for coffee to keep you hacking!

cheers

What to bring to the Twin Cities preDevCamp

I thought I’d reiterate what a certain wise San Franciscan said:

  1. A Laptop running a supported OS (32 bit windows -xp or vista, Mac OSX, and especially Linux =) )
  2. A thumb drive or a cd with the SDK to share with your neighbor if they forget it. Get it at http://developer.palm.com
  3. Awesome ideas of what you want to make.
  4. Your palm pre – you have one right? If not you will have several chances to win one. Ideally in developer mode.
  5. Graphic Design software if you’re a designer – Adobe Fireworks works best. Get the trial here.
  6. Paper or a notebook for sketching ideas and notes. – Portable whiteboards are cool too.
  7. Hacker / devhouse / excitement to learn / can do spirit – without this you will have no fun, and at the end of the day I hope that is what you have.
  8. Hope to see you there!
